Here is Sumaya teaching Maude how to sit (the only thing she really knows how to do).

Sumaya actually came to Maude’s dog training classes with me, all the way out in Hamden, on Tuesday nights last fall. She came for Maude’s graduation, and helped me cheat so that Maude could win the rally race (Sumaya hoarded all the chicken treats and we used them strategically).

Now she and Pam are in Cairo, and we are still here, missing their enormous spirits that made everyone around them a better dachshund.
