We biked down to the harbour and found Sayle’s Seafood, purchased two lobsters boiled to order. Flavia had to balance them on her bike because my seat was too high and Nantucket Harbour is all cobblestones (might I add — poorly constructed cobblestones that bounce and jobble. Americans do many things well but not san pietrini).
I melted butter in garlic and peperonicino for the lobster and made a simple salad of shredded romaine lettuce with lemon and salt. We had fresh corn too because it’s Flavia’s favorite. Flavia covered the table in brown shopping bags cut to stay flat, and then we had one of the most delicious meals of my life.
